NOTE: THESE COMPILED TERMINFO DESCRIPTIONS MAY/WILL NOT BE COMPATIBLE WITH ALL SYSTEMS. You may have to compile the descriptions yourself, see the src/terminfo/ directory. These dirs should be copied under $HOME/.terminfo, so we get $HOME/.terminfo/h/hp48-vt52bis $HOME/.terminfo/h/hp48-vt52bis-n $HOME/.terminfo/s/screen.hp48-vt NOTE that you must have a TERMINFO environment variable that points to your private terminfo directory. In sh/bash-like shells: TERMINFO=~/.terminfo export TERMINFO and in csh/tcsh-like shells: setenv TERMINFO=~/.terminfo These settings must be added to your startup files (bash: .bash_profile, tcsh: .tschrc). hp48-vt52bis The full terminal description, including standout (=inverse). hp48-vt52bis-n All except standout. Use this if you find standout-effects too slow. These descriptions regulate the interaction between the HP48 and `screen'. screen.hp48-vt The description of the available `screen' functions. Interaction between programs and `screen' goes according to this description. If you log in via your HP48, first choose the desired terminal type, either hp48-vt52bis or hp48-vt52bis-n. In sh/bash-like shells for example: TERM=hp48-vt52bis export TERM In csh/tcsh-like shells for example: setenv TERM=hp48-vt52bis Then start screen. The terminal type will automatically change to screen.hp48-vt (yes, this is the same for both with and without standout `activated' - if standout is not known, screen will not use it).
